Why White Kids Love Hip-Hop

This article is about white kids and hip-hop. In this article two questions are answered. (1) Will hip hop become like rock and roll and be more associated with whites than blacks? The answer is no. Although hip hop has been appropriated by young white Americans, hip hop will never be like Rock and Roll.(2)If white kids are imitating black men that society has disparagd, will "black problems" infect these young whites who listen to hip-hop? White kids are imitating "Black Cool." These young whites who listen to hip hop openly say that they have a fascination with Black Culture.

This article was interesting but I have one problem with it. To me it seems more like they are talking about rap not hip hop most of the time. This affects american life in different ways really. If young white kids are imitating famous 'hip hop' artist that send the wrong message there can be problems such as violence. At the same time though young whites that follow hip hop artist are exposed to art and self expression.
